Death

death
Out with the old.

Keywords: Ending, transformation, rebirth, mortality, letting go, release

Yes/No: No

Upright: Although this card is very grim, with the grim reaper himself making an appearance, this card is usually more positive than it looks. Although it could actually indicate death (only with the right accompanying cards) it usually signifies more of a rebirth. That it is the time to shed your old skin so that you can grow. The skeleton grim reaper in the card represents transformation instead, and if you look at the people, it shows that change is inevitable no matter your age or status. The skeleton bears no weapon, yet everyone falls to their feet because they know that change, or death, is imminent. I like to look at this card and think, if I was told this card meant death and that I may die soon, what things would I immediately change to live my best life ever in the end, and to make those changes NOW. Why wait? Live like you were dying now and enjoy however much time you do have left.

Reversed: You keep resisting change. You cannot quit the bad things in your life, even though you hate them and you hate your life because of them. You are at that point right now where you think ‘Better the Devil you know than the Devil you don’t’ so you just keep sticking it out. But if you don’t change, then things will never get better and before you know it, you will be at the end of the road looking back at your life wondering if it was all worth it.
